Jacob has become obsessed with taking pictures. He sometimes gets really good ones, but I thought I should share some things that catch his artistic eye. It's really quite hilarious.
Blessing Day
We blessed Derek on Saturday, January 7th, 2012 at our home. Typically babies are blessed at church, but we got permission to do it at our home since that was the only day our entire family could be there. I made a cake for the occasion and it turned out super cute. Derek got a special blanket from his Great Grandma Ray and it is so beautiful. He is growing so fast, he didn't fit in the hat we had for him.
Christmas 2011
We had a great Christmas season this year! We started off with the Christmas Tree lighting in Murray and Santa. My grandma's pine tree was chosen for the Murray city Christmas Tree. They cut her tree down, dug out the stump for them and took it to the town hall and covered it with over 7000 lights! It was beautiful! We waited in the freezing cold to see the lights, then went to see Santa. Jacob wasn't sure about this Santa guy, but he told him he wanted a kitten for Christmas- a green kitten. Derek slept through the whole experience, but that's normal at 4 weeks old.
We had our Winn Family Christmas Party on Christmas Eve this year. Since my grandma couldn't come, we filmed the whole thing for her. It was a really fun party, except for the part where Jacob lost Mickey. He has been glued to Mickey Mouse for the last couple of months, and somehow Mickey disappeared sometime during the party. We know that he stuffed him in an orange pumpkin halloween bucket and no one has seen Mickey or the bucket since. Jacob was heartbroken so we had to go buy a new Mickey a few days later. Jacob is still thanking me for his "new Mickey."
We decided to stay at my mom's overnight Christmas Eve and we spent all day with them Christmas Day. It was a nice easy day for all of us. Jacob had a blast with opening his presents, and everyone else's too. Dustin built me a beautiful full length mirror jewelry box. These pictures are before we stained it, I'll take some more after it's done completely. Jacob is super excited to use his new helmet this summer. I love the last picture where Jacob is passed out next to the Christmas Tree.
