Talents

We have been learning some new talents these last few months and I decided it was time to share a few. Dustin recently started making things using paracord which is a very durable type of string. It is used for parachutes, and is becoming popular for use in a survival kit. Dustin has been making bracelets, a gun strap for his rifle, and I've asked him to make me a strap for my guitar. Jacob even has his own small bracelet! Here are some pictures!

I have been expanding my cake decorating to cake pops this year! I've really enjoyed them. Dustin says he prefers real cake, but I think they are a fun change from butter cream and fondant. We had a talent show night with our Relief Society and I taught the sisters how to make these. We really had a good time. Here are a few pictures!

Another craft I have recently picked up is crocheting. My Grandma Ray taught me to crochet when I was a young girl and I have picked it up a few times over the years. Around Thanksgiving I decided I needed something to do with my hands in the evenings so I wouldn't just fall asleep. I decided to make a blanket to cover my rocking chair, which thanks to Jakie, has many many stains on it. Anyway, I learned a lot making this blanket and I hope to improve with each one I make. I am currently making a baby blanket for my sister in law who is having a baby girl in May!

And since I can't resist posting pictures of my boy, here are some funny ones from over the lsat few months.

Who is this guy and why do I have to sit on his lap?

Pure Concentration.

I found him this way one night an hour after bedtime. Trouble maker.

Jacob LOVES tractors. He was so excited when he saw this one in the Bass Pro Shop in Vegas.

Love this smile. He melts my heart.
