The Great Outdoors

Dustin and I love to camp. This past weekend was our first time out this year. I planned it for weeks and we had so much fun! We went to Blue Sky Day which is my family's property in the Manti area. I've been going there every summer since I was a kid, so it's like going home. Our good friends, Rachel and Michael, were able to come down with us for the weekend and it was so peaceful. Here are some pictures from our little vacation.

A family shot, we haven't had many of these lately.

This was before I got fried by the sun. I remembered to put sunblock on Jacob and Dustin, but oh no, not me!

A view from our ride. Rachel took this, we were in front. It was much rockier and steeper in person. At least I thought so.

Our camp right before we packed it up.

My cute hubs working to get us all put away.

Jacob doesn't go ANYWHERE without his orange hat. I am very pleased with this because it keeps him from getting too burned. It was $2 in the bargain cave at Cabela's and Jacob loves it! Jacob loves being outside, so camping was great for him.

This was our "double oven" for dinner. We have this ancient gas BBQ thing up there that we like to build fires in and so we had coals in the lid on the bottom level baking our cobbler and our steaks on the top level. Pure genius. Here's a picture of Michael, he loves to play with fire.

When Jacob wasn't collecting every ROCK on the mountainside, he was HERE on the quads. He learned some new words this weekend. RIDE, Trailer (don't ask me how he picked that one up, he's only seen a trailer 3 times in his life) gate, and DRIVE. I told him that he can drive when he can reach both handle bars at the same time so that should buy me a year or two I hope.
